Volunteer with us

At El Puente we take a wide open approach to volunteering.  You can make a special trip to Puerto Viejo to be involved in our programs, or you can build a smaller time commitment into your vacation. Or, you can work on a volunteer project right from your own home. There is no fee for volunteering at El Puente.

There are multiple ways to be involved in the El Puente Family, from food service, to technical support, to project management based on your own skills and experience.

At the moment, we don’t have lodging available. There are several places we can recommend nearby, ranging from hostels, to low-cost and mid-range hotels, to arrangements for long-term house-sitting. Contact us for any questions you may have.

community kitchen

Volunteering at our Community Kitchen provides a unique opportunity to serve, meet and interact with members of the Talamanca community. You also provide much needed hands to prepare food, serve our community and maintain our kitchen space.

Everyone who attends El Puente to either serve or be served is our guest and is treated with love and respect.
